I am filled with deep gratitude as I get to share this news with you. My composition “Hosanna (Psalm 118)” for a cappella advanced choir was selected as the winner of the 2019 George Heussenstamm ECCO Choral Composition Contest. This piece is one of those creations that has bled from my core and is dense with my own story of mental illness and spirituality, and its inspiration comes from many friends who have walked with me through similar challenges.

Townsend Losey is a California-born conductor and composer specializing in choral music with experience as Director of Music Ministries and Founding Artistic Director. Driven to conduct vigorous psychologically and spiritually charged concerts by impassioned vision for community integration through excellence in music. He possesses a zeal for nuance and expression through technical conducting and intimate score study. He is known for creative programming skills with a flair for immersive and impactful performances.
